Find parking near Old City Hall Richmond

Old City Hall Richmond is a striking High Victorian Gothic landmark that occupies an entire city block beside Capitol Square in downtown Richmond. Completed in the 1890s as the city’s main hall, its ornate stone façade, clock tower, and dramatic interior atrium make it a memorable stop for visitors exploring the historic core of Virginia’s capital. The building now houses state and legislative offices, so the surrounding streets can be busy on weekdays with government workers, service vehicles, and tour groups coming and going.

Because Old City Hall sits in the dense government district, on-street parking nearby is limited, closely regulated, and often in high demand, especially during business hours and legislative sessions. Reserving a spot in advance rather than circling for curbside space helps reduce stress, saves time, and keeps your visit focused on the architecture and nearby attractions instead of traffic. Planning parking near Old City Hall Richmond before you arrive is particularly helpful if you are unfamiliar with local time limits, meters, or enforcement in the downtown area. Always review the latest official guidance on parking rules and hours of operation before heading out to ensure a smooth trip.
