Find parking near Riverfront Canal Cruises

Riverfront Canal Cruises offers 40-minute, narrated boat tours along the historic James River and Kanawha Canal, giving visitors a relaxing way to explore downtown Richmond’s Canal Walk and learn about the city’s past. The Turning Basin at 139 Virginia Street sits in the busy Shockoe Slip and riverfront area, where a mix of office buildings, restaurants, and attractions means roads can be active throughout the day and especially on weekends. Because the boats operate on set departure times and tickets are often purchased in advance, securing parking ahead of time helps ensure you arrive at the dock without rushing and can simply enjoy the waterfront atmosphere before your tour.

Street parking in this part of downtown is limited and often metered, with time restrictions that may not always match the length of your visit, and spaces can fill quickly when nearby offices, hotels, and dining spots are busy. Planning parking near Riverfront Canal Cruises in advance can reduce the stress of circling for a spot, make it easier to manage downtown traffic, and give you more time to walk the Canal Walk or explore nearby sights before or after your cruise. Visitors should always review current city parking regulations, meter rules, and official guidance before driving in, as local policies and availability can change.
