Find parking near The Commonwealth

Located in the heart of downtown Richmond across from the Virginia State Capitol, The Commonwealth is a historic all‑suite hotel that blends more than a century of local heritage with modern style and comforts. Its central setting places guests within walking distance of the financial district, state and federal courts, cultural attractions and dining, making it a popular choice for both business travelers and tourists who want to explore the city on foot. This busy Capitol Square area often has steady traffic flows and frequent visitor turnover, so arriving with a clear parking plan helps you start your stay relaxed instead of circling the block.

The Commonwealth offers valet-only hotel parking, with no self-parking on site, and garage access typically involves height limits for larger vehicles, which can be challenging during peak hours or when events bring more visitors downtown. Street parking in the surrounding Capitol District is limited, time-restricted and closely monitored, so relying on finding a curbside space at the last minute is rarely convenient. Booking parking near The Commonwealth in advance allows you to secure a spot close to the hotel, save time on arrival and focus on your visit. Always review the latest local parking rules, pricing and regulations from official and up-to-date sources before you travel, as policies can change.
