Find parking near VCU Cary Street Field

VCU Cary Street Field is an outdoor stadium on Virginia Commonwealth University’s Monroe Park Campus, home to Rams field hockey and women’s lacrosse and a popular spot for intramural sports and student events. Its central location along West Cary Street puts it close to academic buildings, residence halls, and busy city streets, so the area can feel lively and congested, especially on game days and during the academic year. Visitors driving in will find that traffic moves steadily but can slow around peak class times and evening events, making it wise to arrive with extra time to navigate the campus grid and nearby one-way streets.

Parking in this part of Richmond is a mix of university-controlled lots and decks and tightly regulated city street spaces, with time limits, permit requirements, and frequent enforcement that can make casual parking a challenge for visitors. Street spots near the field often fill quickly, and some areas have residential or university restrictions, so relying on last-minute curbside parking can be stressful and unpredictable. Planning ahead and securing parking near VCU Cary Street Field helps avoid circling crowded blocks, reduces the risk of tickets, and makes attending games or campus events more relaxed. Because rules, rates, and regulations can change, visitors should always review the latest guidance from official VCU and City of Richmond sources before they drive.
