Find parking near Hovey Field

Hovey Field is a historic on-campus stadium at Virginia Union University in North Side Richmond, best known as the longtime home of the Virginia Union Panthers football program. Opened in 1907 and seating around 10,000 fans, it is one of the oldest continuously used college football venues in the country and hosts college football games and other university events that draw alumni, students, and visitors from across the region. On event days, the surrounding streets and campus roads can become busy, with game traffic mixing with local neighborhood commuters, so drivers should expect heavier activity before and after kickoffs.

Because the stadium sits within a compact university campus bordered by residential streets, parking is typically a mix of campus lots and limited neighborhood street spaces, which can fill quickly on popular game days. Street parking often comes with time limits or residential considerations, and visitors need to pay close attention to posted signs, crosswalks, and no-parking zones when looking for parking near Hovey Field. Planning your parking in advance, arriving early, and knowing your route helps you avoid circling for spaces and makes it easier to enjoy the game or campus visit. Always confirm current parking regulations and any updated guidance from official city and university sources before you travel.
