ParkColumbus is recognized for success in tackling parking challenges for Columbus residents and city staff
Atlanta, GA – April 14, 2025 — ParkMobile, the leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in North America and part of EasyPark Group, and the City of Columbus was named a finalist in the 2025 IDC Smart Cities North America Awards, which recognizes successful projects and initiatives that use technology innovation to solve challenges in partnership with the community and smart city ecosystem. ParkMobile and the City of Columbus’ partnership, ParkColumbus, is the mobile payment and virtual permitting system for the city recognized by the IDC Smart Cities awards for bringing greater modernization of transportation for residents through digital parking management options.

Smart Cities projects, while promoting best practice sharing. This year’s competition featured strong applications across 10 categories, with 31 finalists to be honored at this month’s Smart Cities Connect conference.

The City of Columbus has embraced mobility technologies as a core of its smart city transition. ParkColumbus was launched in 2019 as part of Columbus’ Strategic Parking Plan with technology provided in partnership with ParkMobile. Modernizing parking through asset-light digital options has reduced curb space clutter and improved the day-to-day experience of residents and visitors to the city. Availability of timely parking occupancy data has also provided more efficient and informed decision-making for construction and development projects that will improve the lives of Columbus residents and visitors alike.
