Mobile app makes it easy for West Virginia University students, staff, and visitors to pay for parking from their mobile devices

Morgantown, WV – October 26, 2016— ParkMobile, LLC announced today its partnership with West Virginia University to provide mobile payments for parking to the campus. Students, faculty, staff, and visitors will be able to use the app in 5 off-street parking lots throughout campus. Customers can pay to park with their smartphones using ParkMobile’s app for iPhone, Android, and Windows phones or by calling the toll-free number on the green meter stickers and signs.

“Our goal is to integrate technology that delivers real-time information via an app and other applications to our customers,” said Clement Solomon, Director of Transportation and Parking for West Virginia University. “The ParkMobile app is a time saver for faculty, staff, students, and visitors who wish to start and extend transactions remotely.  No more feeding parking meters, take care of your short term parking needs using a mobile device.”

ParkMobile’s mobile payments system is very simple and easy to use. Customers first must register by downloading the mobile app in their phone’s app store or online at parkmobile.io. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or the toll-free number listed on signage to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to their parking session expiring.

“We are very excited to launch our service at WVU to give its students, faculty, and visitors a simpler, faster way to pay for parking,” said Jon Ziglar, CEO of ParkMobile, LLC. “Whether a user is out to dinner, in class, or studying on campus, our app makes parking a convenient and stress-free process.”

This ParkMobile service also provides customers the ability to receive alerts when their meter time is about to expire, extend their time remotely without returning to the meter, utilize credit cards in locations that do not offer manual credit card payments, as well as print and keep receipts for parking. Additionally, enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with ParkMobile using their wireless handheld devices, so customers should not worry when the meter does not change. ParkMobile’s mobile payment solution is an added payment option and is intended to complement existing parking payment options. All existing forms of payment are still valid for use.

With the most widely used mobile parking solution in the country and 5 million people using ParkMobile’s services over 30 million times per year, ParkMobile is excited to make a difference leveraging our large network of users.
