ParkMobile, the leading provider of mobile parking solutions in the US, announced today an expansion in Montgomery County to provide mobile parking solutions to the area. Users will now be able to use their mobile devices to pay for parking at Garages 57, 35, 40 and 42.

ParkMobile’s mobile payments system is user-friendly and widely-available across platforms. Customers first must register by downloading the mobile app for iPhone, Android, or Windows phones, or online at parkmobile.io. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or for those without a smartphone – call the toll-free number listed on the green meter stickers and signs to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers may immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. Enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with ParkMobile using a wireless handheld device and the parker’s license plate number. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and reminders prior to their parking session expiring.

“To provide greater flexibility to our parking customers, MCDOT will now be offering more than one choice for mobile parking payment,” said MCDOT Director Al Roshdieh.  “Adding the option of using ParkMobile, which is the same app used by Washington, D.C., could provide greater convenience for those who park frequently in the District. This expansion is another example of the way in which MCDOT continues to embrace technology and innovation to expand alternatives for our customers and enhance our services for travelers.”

“ParkMobile is delighted to be expanding in Montgomery County. With many existing users in the surrounding D.C. area, we are excited to provide a one-stop solution parking app for the county. The availability of the app will now allow users the convenience of using their mobile device to locate, start-stop pay and extend their meter through their mobile device. With a user base of 7 million and our vast network, including the 7 of the top 10 cities in the US, we are thrilled to be expanding in the Montgomery County region,” Jon Ziglar, CEO of ParkMobile expressed.

ParkMobile is widely available in surrounding areas including Towson, Baltimore, College Park, North Bethesda, Bethesda, Rockville, Takoma Park, National Harbor, Annapolis and Frederick. Users may employ ParkMobile in the neighboring D.C. area for on-demand and reservation parking. Additionally, ParkMobile maintains a contract with the New York City DOT to offer mobile payment at all metered spaces across all five boroughs.

As the most widely used mobile parking solution in the country with over 7 million users employing ParkMobile’s services over 45 million times per year, ParkMobile is excited to make a difference leveraging our large network of users.
