Amid COVID-19 concerns, students, faculty, and visitors will have the option to skip the meter and pay for parking via mobile app
Baton Rouge, LA – ParkMobile, the leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in the U.S., announced today the launch of service on Louisiana State University’s campus in Baton Rouge. Students, faculty, and visitors will be able to use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking at over 650 spaces around campus beginning Monday, August 17th. With the recent COVID-19 crisis, many University leaders are encouraging the school community to use the app instead of the meter to prevent the spread of the virus.
ParkMobile is the #1 parking app in the U.S. with over 19 million users and is available for both iPhone and Android devices. To pay for parking with the ParkMobile app, a user enters the zone number posted on the stickers and signs around parking space. The user then selects the amount of time needed and touches the “Start Parking” button to begin the session. The user can also extend the time of the parking session on their mobile device without having to go back to the meter.
The launch of ParkMobile at Louisiana State University expands the company’s footprint in the state. There are almost 300,000 users of ParkMobile in Louisiana with availability in the cities of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport. And there are over seven million users of the app across the Southeast region.
