Stamford, CT – May 23, 2016— ParkMobile, LLC, the leading provider of on-demand and prepaid mobile payments for on- and off-street parking, announced today its partnership with the City of Stamford to provide mobile payments for parking to its residents and visitors. The app will be available for most on-street parking in downtown, the three municipal garages at Bell Street, Summer Place, and Bedford Street, as well as surface parking lots at Bedford Street, Bell Street, and the Glenbrook and Springdale Metro-North Railroad Stations. Customers can pay to park with their smartphones using ParkMobile’s app for iPhone, Android, Windows, Amazon, and Blackberry phones, or by calling the toll-free number on the green meter stickers.

“The ParkMobile app gives Stamford residents and our visitors a convenient option for how to pay for parking,” said Mayor David Martin. “We are moving parking payment into the 21st century, making it as easy and convenient as possible for people to park and enjoy all that Stamford has to offer. We are pleased to be partnering with ParkMobile to provide this additional service.”

ParkMobile’s mobile payments system is very simple and easy to use. Customers first must register by downloading the mobile app in their phone’s app store or online at parkmobile.io. Once registered, they may use the mobile app, internet, or the toll-free number listed on signage to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately start using the system with their registered mobile phone. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to their parking session expiring.

“We are excited to launch our service in Stamford to give its residents and visitors a simpler, faster way to pay for parking,” said Jon Ziglar, CEO of ParkMobile, LLC. “Whether they are catching a train, going to the movies, or out for dinner, our app makes parking a simple, stress-free process.”

This convenient service also provides customers the ability to receive alerts when their meter time is about to expire, extend their time remotely without returning to the meter, utilize credit cards in locations that do not offer manual credit card payments, as well as print and keep receipts for parking. Additionally, enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with ParkMobile using their wireless handheld devices, so customers should not worry when the meter does not change. ParkMobile’s mobile payment solution is an added payment option and is intended to complement existing parking payment options. All existing forms of payment are still valid for use.
