The ParkMobile mobile app will allow customers to use their mobile devices to easily pay for parking on the go.

CAPE MAY, NJ — ParkMobile, LLC and the City of Cape May announced today a program that will allow customers to use their mobile phones to pay for parking at approximately 1,200 on-street parking spaces throughout downtown and along the beach. Customers will be able to use ParkMobile’s mobile applications for iPhone, Android, and Windows phones to conveniently pay to park on-the-go. The app will go live to everyone starting on Friday, May 26 starting at 10 a.m.

Mayor Clarence “Chuck” Lear acknowledged the practicality of the ParkMobile program for Cape May’s residents and visitors, saying, “People can relax over dinner or while they are strolling around town, knowing they do not have to rush back to feed a parking meter. It’s a great convenience.”

The City’s Qualified PurchasingAgent and Information Technology Manager, Dan Shustack, who coordinated installation of the system, commented, “ParkMobile offers a state of the art approach to metered parking, and we hope locals and tourists will find it a useful amenity.”

To use the ParkMobile system, customers can register for free through the app or at www.parkmobile.io. Once registered, they can use the mobile app, internet, or call the toll-free number listed on the ParkMobile meter stickers and signs to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately begin using the system with their registered mobile device. Enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with ParkMobile using a wireless handheld device. Mobile app users may also choose to receive customized reminders prior to expiration of their parking session. Time limits on meters still apply and the app will not allow users to purchase more time than allotted by the meters. ParkMobile’s mobile payment solution is an added payment option and is intended to complement existing parking payment options. All existing forms of payment are still valid for use.
